The Rules

When you play Whirlyball, you Play at your Own Risk and Liability.

Cellphones are not allowed while playing. You are welcome to film from the sidelines when you are not on the court.

If desired, there are Eye goggles available at the counter.

PENALTY POINTS

Penalty points are not taken away from your side. They are added to the other team’s score.

CAR

Step over the bumper to get in the car.
If you take off your seat belt it is an 8pt penalty.

BALL

Do not touch the ball with your hand unless it falls in the car, your lap or floor board and or gets stuck in the scoop.
There will be a 2 point penalty for touching the ball with your hand.

SCORING

Yellow Shoots at the yellow backboard, red shoots at the red backboard.
Most shots are worth 2 points! If you shoot between behind the red line it’s a 3 point shot!
After a score, there is a change of possession! If you prevent the other team from getting the ball there is a 2 point delay of game penalty.

DRIVING

There is an accelerator pedal on the right side of the car. Put your foot down to accelerate, and take your foot off to coast.
Steering: Think of the steering shaft as a arrow. Whichever way the steering shaft is pointing, you will go.
One full turn in either direction will put you in reverse, and one full turn either direction will put you in forward.

SCOOPS

Grab your scoop off of the court wall before heading to your car. Don’t bring a blue scoop from the practice area.
If you swat or hit another player’s scoop we will assess a 2 point penalty.
NEVER EVER let your scoop get crushed. There will be a 4 point penalty. This is for YOUR OWN SAFETY!
There will be a $5 repair fee for every crushed or broken scoop, and a $10 scoop destroyed fee for every scoop we have to throw away!

RAMMING

The back of the car from corner to corner is a no hit zone. Depending on speed there will be a 2 to 8 point penalty!
Head-on collision are called against the offensive player with a 4 point penalty

We have lockers for your convenience, if not please empty your pockets (such as Keys, Cell Phones, ID tags etc..)
leave outside or in corner of court. Get a scoop off the wall and get in your cars.
